The Nothing Phone (1) wilk not be released in North America although the company has confirmed it has plans to release a smartphone to the North American Market in the near future. Pre-Orders began for the Nothing Phone (1) to the United Kingdom and Europe in July this year, So let’s take a closer look at the design and features of the Nothing Phone (1).
Design
Available in Black and White the Nothing Phone 1 is a transparent design, Yes this means you can see the internal components of the device! The Phone consists of 400 components, It has flat sides, an IP53 Splash water and dust resistance rating. The design features 900 small LEDs on the back which uses the Glyph Interface to make rear LED’s light up in sync with the phone sounds.
Software
The Nothing Phone 1 will run on its own operating system called ‘Nothing OS’ which is based on the Android operating system. The Nothing OS will be built on an ecosystem that can connect and integrate Nothing products and products form other brands
Hardware
The Nothing Phone one is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor and has a 6.5 Inch 1080 x 2400 resolution. The screen can get as bright as 1200 nits and supports 1 billion colours. An exciting part of the Nothing Phone 1 is the battery, Packing a 4500 mAh battery with 33W charging the Nothing phone is capable of charging from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes.
Durability
Overall, the Nothing Phone 1 has handled durability tests very well although due to the current lack of spare parts available it’s not recommended you try to fix this yourself! The Display of the Nothing Phone 1 is protected by gorilla Glass 5 but a screen replacement is expensive so we would recommend adding that extra layer of protection with a front Nano Glass screen protector for your Nothing Phone 1 and if seeing the internal components scare you as much as it does me you can add a back screen protector to your Nothing Phone 1.
